Tuesday's Tip!

Say “Cheese!”

Drop by your local newspaper with a photo from your group’s latest activity. Include a caption, and don’t forget to use your spell-check!

I often blog about my experiences leading a small coop, but do not often receive feedback on those posts. I'd so love to interact more with other folks nuts enough to take on organizing these sorts of things, although it is always wonderful when the area support group leader reminds me that she is praying for me!

I like what you are doing on your blog, maybe other folks reading yours will hop over to mine and leave a comment!

We are excited about your blog! We've looked at it and we love your sense of humor and your real experiences leading a co-op. We enjoyed reading about the various projects your co-op does, and the Lego League looks really fun. Great ideas! Thanks for sharing with us. We feel your blog is an informative and encouraging resource for other leaders.

Praying for you,
Kristen and Denise

Some of our homeschool co-op families are sensitive about their privacy and wouldn't like their child's photos showing up in the local paper, so we always collect photo releases. It can be a simple statement granting permission to publish photos on websites or in local media. Or parents can check a box stating that they do NOT give permission. We try to be careful and NOT photograph those children.

Thank you, Carol, for the wonderful insight! It is so important to be sensitive to the needs and desires of each family's privacy.
It is good to show the community a great example of homeschooling, but in some areas this might put the families at risk. We are blessed here in Texas to have such freedom.
Did you hand out the photo releases as each member joined the group, or did you give them when the pictures were taken?
Thanks,
Denise & Kristen
P.S. We are so curious...what does "HTH" mean?
